    Mets Wright breaks pinkie

An X-ray has revealed a small fracture in David Wright's right pinkie.
The good news is that he won't need surgery, but Wright will wear a splint and be sidelined indefinitely. The Mets haven't said if a disabled list stint will be required, but we have to assume it will be. He'll be re-evaluated Wednesday and will resume baseball activities once he can tolerate the pain. The Mets started Ronny Cedeno at the hot corner on Tuesday, and he figures to see plenty of playing time while Wright is sidelined. Justin Turner would also be due for an uptick in at-bats, and the club could call up Zach Lutz.
Sucks for Wright and the Mets who have gotten off to a good start. I have never broken a finger so I can't say how long it will be plus it's on his throwing hand.

    Re: Wright breaks pinkie

David Wright went 3-for-5 in his return to the lineup Saturday including a home run in the Mets 5-0 victory over the Phillies.
Wright, who has been nursing a broken pinkie finger, hit a solo home run in his first at-bat of the game. He scored twice and drove in a run in the game. There had been speculation that Wright could face a stint on the disabled list had he not been ready to play by Saturday’s game. For the time being, it appears that Wright will be able to successfully play through the ailment.
    Looks like he's okay!
