Mets No Ike for rest of'11?

Ike Davis could be facing microfracture ankle surgery.
Mets GM Sandy Alderson told Joel Sherman of the New York Post on Wednesday that a follow-up exam on Davis' sore left ankle showed very little progress and that the first baseman won't be back "any time soon." If Davis undergoes the microfracture procedure, he won't return at all this season. The 24-year-old is going to try to perform some baseball-related activities three weeks from now, then an official decision will be made.
If true this hurts the hopes of the Mets having a second half surge. The Mets have played well but I don't think its sustainable. How Alderson is not fooled come trade deadline.

This is tough news for the Mets. Ike looked good when he was in the lineup.
