Mets, Chris Young Close On Deal?

According to Olney's twitter:

@Buster_ESPN Heard this: The Mets are closing in on a deal with veteran right-hander Chris Young, who would fit their park perfectly.

If this is true and the money is right, this would be a good deal for the Mets. Young has never been confused with an innings eater but he would be a good low end rotation guy in that ballpark. Young looked good at the end of last season after coming of the DL for the first time since '09. I'm sure its a incentive based contract and not a lot of guaranteed money.

Damn it. I was hoping the Padres could bring him back cheap with incentives.

Its not a done deal so things could change. Reports are backing away from the original reports. Interest is still there but nothing close.

The Mets are one of 7-8 teams that Young and his agent (himself) have spoken to. Something may get done, but not yet, from what I hear.
