    Mets Is Ramon Castro the future at catcher?

    Curious on some opinions.

    I like what I see from him. He can hit (not great, but he could be worse) and he's a billion times better a defender than Piazza ever was (not that it takes much). He's made some basepath blunders but I blame that on the stumblebum Manny Acta, who on more than one occasion has screwed us up at 3rd base.

    We already need 1st and 2nd basemen, some bullpen depth, and a younger starter to supplant Glavine (he can't last forever), so it would be very helpful if one of our own could replace Piazza.

    I like him too, but he's pretty stupid. If he manages to improve his baseball intellect, then he can be a good ML catcher.

    Ramon Castro and future do not mix. So far Piazza has been sub par, but Castro hasnt been great either. I do not want Castro being the starting Catcher on this team next year
