David Wright said he was "embarrassed" to be placed on the disabled list, because he hoped to spend his entire career without ever landing there. An upbeat Wright added that he still has a little residual headache, but no other concussion-like symptoms.
Wright had never spent a night in his life in the hospital.
He said the scariest part was knowing he would not be able to elude the fastball as it was halfway to the plate.
"I had a pounding headache and was real sore where the ball hit me," Wright said.
Wright said Matt Cain text-messaged and called him, and that they spoke in person today. He said they've always had friendly relationships, so he didn't think any malice was involved.
"He's always been friendly, so I knew there was no intent," Wright said.
The guy basically fought the front office to keep him off the DL....he hoped to play 2 days after being drilled in the head with a 94 MPH fastball. He's tough, he cares, and he wants to do everything he can for this team, even in the awful year they're having.

If David Wright ever plays for any other team besides the Mets....I don't know what I'd do....
