    Mets 7/20-7/22: Mets @ Nationals

    Pitching Matchups:
    Livan Hernandez (5-5, 5.10) vs. J.D. Martin (0-0, -.--)
    Oliver Perez (2-2, 7.99) vs. John Lannan (6-7, 3.64)
    Mike Pelfrey (7-5, 5.07) vs. Craig Stammen (2-5, 4.46)

This MIGHT be a series we could actually win. Not sure I'd bet on it, but this is about the only team in the division that doesn't make me worry about losing by 15 runs....

Nationals have a good chance to win the 2nd game, based on the pitching match up

Livan Hernandez has more power than 4/9th of that lineup. I wonder what the record is for a team starting X amount of guys this late into the year, with zero homeruns?

How about the fact that Albert Pujols has significantly more HR than this whole lineup combined?

I mean, seriously though, only 3-4 of these guys were expected to play any major role at the start of the season. This is pathetic.

It's a AAA lineup. We had Pagan, Cora, Santos, and Tatis in the lineup. None of those guys were thought to be more than a backup at the start of the year...

Garrett Jones, that would be Adam LaRoche's replacement basically, has more homeruns (9) than nearly every met this season except for Sheffield. He has less than 75 ABs.

The Mets active roster currently has 36 HR. 10 of those are from Sheff, who may be going on the DL as soon as friday with his injured hammy. 4 of those were hit by Francouer while he was still a Brave. So for players that are actually able to be active, the Mets ROSTER has 22. That'd be good for 14th on the list of most HR hit by a PLAYER this season. That's awful.

The Mets have 4 games against the Padres in early August. That's going to be one low scoring series.
