Mets Acquire Emil Brown

According to the Associated Press, the Mets have acquired OF Emil Brown from the Padres for a player to be named later.

The 34-year-old Brown hit .260 with four HR and 22 RBI this season in 146 at-bats with Triple-A Portland.

Brown will be assigned to Triple-A Buffalo.

Brown hit .244 with 13 HR in 117 games with the A’s last season.

Not sure why this move was necessary, although I guess the Mets will not be giving too much for him. Maybe Brown can be a decent bat off the bench, if we need him.

He's the Smush Parker of baseball. A marginal player in every way.

I don't think he'll even reach the Majors. He has no place on the team with Pagan, Murphy, Reed, Sheff, Tatis, Beltran, and Church(when he gets healthy) all on the roster.
