His stench is unbearable, even he can't stand himself.

I still remember Padres fans pissing up a storm because we traded "the next Randy Johnson".

Walking 4 of the first 5 guys in the 3rd inning including walking in a run to Jamie Moyer was kind of sad. I think he might be done in the rotation for a while.

From what I'm hearing he'll either go to the bullpen or AAA to work himself out...

I would send him down to AAA instead of the bullpen. He is just plain awful at this point. He would just be a liability in the pen. He needs to go down to AAA and works things out first.

Terrible ending to this game for the Mets. Walks kill again.

That contract was just horrible. Derek Lowe was definitely the right choice for the Mets.

Great entertainment. Luis Ayala may now rest in peace.

I wanted Lowe, but I didn't want him for 4 years and just as much as Perez is making. Yes, Lowe is better, but his contract was a little too much in my mind.

Perez's contract is too much. Lowe's is a lot better looking than Perez's. Minaya really screwed the pooch.

Perez's contract is definitely too much, but I don't want Lowe 4 years from now. Not to mention that there's slightly more of a chance to trade a 29 or 30 year old lefty with his ability, than there is to trade a 40 year old righty on the decline(assuming it COULD come to that).

His ability to walk batters and never pitch consistently? Good luck trading him with that contract. Lowe for four years still looks better as sinkerballers can pitch into their late 30's.
