No shit he's gonna stay. The guy looked AWFUL in spring training, and wouldn't get a job from most independent league teams, let alone a MLB team. He's shown improvement in velocity, but he has a long way to go to get back to the majors. Best of luck to him, but based on what I've seen he's nowhere near as healthy as I thought he was, and I don't think he'll be back in the majors this year(if ever).The Mets told reporters today that Freddy Garcia has accepted an assignment to minor-league camp.
“I’m glad he’s going to stay with us and try to work things out,” Mets Assistant GM John Ricco said, adding Garcia will initially report to minor-league camp, and then either travel to Buffalo for Triple-A or stay in St. Lucie for extended spring training.
