Re: Mets attempting to acquire J.J. Putz
Putz's '06 and '07 were better than any of Rodriguez's years. He wasn't healthy last year, if he gets bacl to '06 & '07 form he is better and it's not debateable. Rodrioguez has had the better overall career b/c he's been around longer and been healthier. The only thing we don't know about Putz is if he is a choker in postseason like Francisco is.

Re: Mets attempting to acquire J.J. Putz
Exactly. Putz is 32 and only has 5 years in MLB. K-rod is 27, and has more than that. Putz has had 2 good years, 2 mediocre years, and 1 bad year. K-rod has had 6 seasons. He has had 5 good years, and one mediocre one. K-rod has better K numbers, Putz has fewer walks. I think it's pretty damn tough to argue that Putz is better based on TWO seasons while K-rod has had 5 consecutive DAMN GOOD seasons. Putz is very very good, I agree, but K-rod is better.

Ropdrigues better career but Putz's 2 year run was better than any 2 year run for Rodriguez and Ridriguez as a closer has been a choker in October. He's basically the latin version of Billy Wagner.

Re: Mets attempting to acquire J.J. Putz
K-rod has a career 3.13 ERA in the postseason. Not GREAT, but it's pretty solid. He had one or two shitty series, but overall has been pretty decent. Comparatively, Putz has never dealt with the pressure of the playoffs, but in the ASG in 2007, Putz went .2 IP, and surrendered 2 runs. Just for information purposes. K-rod is better than Putz.
