They say they will not likely sign Sheets unless they fail to sign Perez. But if we could get say...Sheets and Garland, I'd be fine with that.

Free agent Cory Sullivan has reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Mets.
It's a surprise that the Mets would give Sullivan a major league deal when they already have two arbitration-eligible fifth outfielders in Angel Pagan and Jeremy Reed. Those three would seem to be competing for one spot on the major league team.
Good to have that quality of bench players fighting it out for one spot.

Wow. Obviously Omar is still going to do everything to sign 1 or 2 more SP's, but the fact that he's willing to stack up our bench so much to give us more depth(and help us in case of injuries like we had last year) is a good sign.

I like the Garcia signing, he gets paid based on how well he preforms for us. If he's good, he gets paid well. If he sucks, he doesn't get paid much at all. He could be a very good addition for us.

The Mets signed Elmer Dessens to a MLC today. Not much to say, just another mediocre depth signing that will cost us little $, with the hopes that he can be mediocre should we need him.

Apparently Luis Castillo is 17 lbs. lighter. All good things.

It can't hurt. I'm starting to think that Castillo could be a decent player. Not great, not even good, but he could be decent...
