Re: Heilman Wants A Trade
Agreed, but a prospect would be better than Feliciano. So my deal would have worked...

Re: Heilman Wants A Trade
No, your deal would have failed. The Rockies want Feliciano along with Heilman. The Rockies wanted a sure thing, not a prospect. With no sure thing, the Rockies wanted nothing to do with Heilman. Street is too valuable to give up.

Re: Heilman Wants A Trade
Where do you see them admitting that was the reason it failed? Isn't it possible that the Rockies just wanted more than Heilman for Street, and that was the player they picked?

With them asking for Feliciano and the Mets saying thats too high of a price to pay. Rockies have to have someone to fill Street's void. Rockies can find a better deal for Street.

Re: Heilman Wants A Trade
I know it's late for this, but for the record, according to the newer reports, the Mets offered Heilman and Feliciano for Street. The Rockies were unsure, came back to accept 3 days later, but by that time Minaya had "changed his mind" and pulled the offer. So, it wasn't that Heilman and Feliciano wasn't enough, it's that the Rockies took long enough that Minaya felt he could get more bang for his buck...
