Player Oliver Perez Finally Figuring Himself Out?

Oliver Perez, the young lefty starter for the Mets is a free agent after this year, so I'm sure that many will call this just a contract year hot streak, but Ollie seems to be finally figuring out how to pitch successfully. Oliver, however, has very strange splits:

    Perez under Rick Peterson: 5-4, 72.1 IP, 40 ER, 63 K
    Perez under Dan Warthen: 3-3, 63.2 IP, 19 ER, 60 K

    Perez against teams OVER .500: 7-0 W/L
    Perez against teams UNDER .500: 1-7 W/L

Intriguing that he does better against better teams. Firstly, do you think that Oliver Perez may finally be learning to be more consistent? Secondly, where do you think he ends up next season? Will he be back with the Mets, or will he be rich from his FA contract.

Personally, I believe he'll go somewhere else, mainly because his agent is Scott Boras. I hope the Mets keep him, but it won't be easy.

Oliver Perez the other night against the Washington Nationals(I know it's a bad team, but typically he does better against good teams and worse against bad teams): 6.2 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 8 K.

Not a GREAT stat line, but pretty good. He won his 9th game of the year, and is continuing to lower his ERA and be more consistent. Definitely a good sign for him. Although this stretch will only help Scott Boras make an argument for him to leave the Mets.

In this strong FA class its hard for me to see him getting a mega deal although a team that loses out on CC/Sheets could be willing to spend more... i'd say a 5 yr/45-50 mil contract for him is fair

He has Boras as his agent, I could EASILY see 4-5 years, 50-60 million depending on the team
