    Mets Church Is Out

The Mets have reportedly placed Ryan Church on the disabled list because of the aftereffects of a concussion.
Moises Alou could come off the DL to replace him before Tuesday's game. The Mets obviously have no idea when Church will be ready to play again. This could turn out to be a long-term problem. Fernando Tatis and Endy Chavez will be part of the committee of right fielders for now.
Hopefully this doesn't stay with him for much longer. Church is off to a great season and is one of the Mets best hitters this year if not the best. Tatis in RF is scary. Mets aren't playing well right now so hopefully the 15 days will be enough.

Hope he does NOT have the same symptoms as Corey Koskie. It looks like his career ended with after affects from a concussion. I wish Ryan Church well.

Yeah Matheny never recovered either and Edmonds has struggled with it too.

Ugh. He seemed fine, and he said he was fine, but the effects reappeared. I hope he's ok. We're in deep shit if he's healthy, if he's out, we're ****ed

Trust me, post-concussion-syndrome can last for a long time and have awful effects. Mine lasted just about two years. Hopefully it's not that long for him, because he's a great young player. Best of luck in his recovery.

I mean, he was ok. He played, he hit a HR, he looked fine, said he felt no ill effects...

No I know. The symptoms can come and go. They never fully leave your body until years later, so he may have reoccurrences like this down the road.
