Thread: Change Manager?

    Re: Change Manager?

Hatteberg could be a good fit for the rest of this year, but they still need an option for the long term. Do you think the Mets could own up to benching Delgado the rest of the year? That is one big chunk of change to have sitting on there bench. Although Delgado is not there best option at this point, I think he will stay at first base for the duration of the year unless he is released for the only reason of justifying the spending on him.

I think they'll sit him a bit more. Maybe sit him against lefties. He'll still probably be a starter, but even he's acknowledged that he's not the same guy.

Nick Evans and Mike Carp are the long term first base solutions (assuming the Mets don't go after Texiera this offseason)

Xavier Nady can play first and OF which would help out a lot for this team.

I'd love to have him back, but the Pirates were last heard asking for top prospect Fernando Martinez, which is RIDICULOUS.

You never know with the mets, even if they do love Martinez. The Untyer would be good for them.

Very true, but it's every scout that's saying he's this good. I wouldn't give up on the (as Peter Gammons said) "Teenage Hitting Machine"...even for the X-Man

I wouldn't give Kazmir for Victor Zambrano, even with a healthy arm. BUT things happen, weirdly and mysteriously.

There's always the option of bring Julio Franco out of retirement.
