    Trying to stay positive

    Well, on the "bright side":

    Year/First 5 Games/End Result

    1969 / 2-3 / World Series Champs
    1986 / 2-3 / World Series Champs
    2000 / 2-3 / Lost in World Series
    2008 / 2-3 / ?

Ah, I dont think the Mets or their fans should panic yet. They are way too talented. They will be just fine. It is real early, and they will be in the hunt before season's end.

I don't think its necessarily panicking, but you must realize, that we have a few worries. The injuries, firsts off. Then, you also throw in the fact that Jose Reyes has, in trying to temper himself, seemingly lost that energy and excitement that drove this team for the past two years...Its a worrying thing. I hope we can rebound, get healthy, etc, but I think that having seen some of the problems in real games...we are not promised anything. We need to get the excitement back, and I hope that maybe our last home opener at Shea Stadium tomorrow will do just that
