Mets at the plate: Mike Carp's three-run double in the fourth inning off Dave Borkowski contributed to the Mets' four-run frame. Moises Alou drove in the first run with a double to left, scoring Carlos Beltran. Carp drove in two more in the eighth with a double off Kevin Walker. Carlos Gomez hit a solo shot off Stephen Randolph in the ninth.

Astros at the plate: Hunter Pence was 2-for-2 with a walk. He tripled in the third off Mets lefty Tom Glavine. Carlos Lee singled in the first, and Morgan Ensberg doubled in the fourth. Josh Anderson reached second on an error by first baseman Carp in the eighth, which scored two runs.

Mets on the mound: Glavine allowed four hits over three shutout frames, walking one and striking out two. Jorge Sosa followed with two scoreless innings, walking one and striking out one.

Astros on the mound: Starter Brian Moehler allowed two hits over three shutout innings, striking out one. Borkowski allowed four runs on four hits over two innings. He walked two and struck out one.

Grapefruit League records: Astros 3-3; Mets 3-4.

Up next: The Mets travel to Fort Myers on Wednesday to play the Red Sox at 1:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander Chan Ho Park will start for the Mets, who will face Red Sox righty Tim Wakefield. The Astros will host the Nationals, also at 1:05 p.m. ET. Right-hander Roy Oswalt will face right-hander Shawn Hill.
