Dodgers at the plate: Trailing heading into the ninth, Los Angeles sent nine players to the plate and came away with four runs. The Dodgers had just two hits through the first six innings, one a double by Jason Repko off Jason Vargas. Good catches by Shawn Green and Endy Chavez denied two other hits. In the seventh, Larry Bigbie knocked in the team's first run.

Mets at the plate: Through five innings, the Mets had three hits, two by Chavez, and six walks. Jose Reyes, batting right-handed, hit his second home run of the spring in the sixth, off Eric Stults. In the seventh, a David Newhan sac fly gave the Mets their second run.

Dodgers on the mound: In two innings, Brad Penny walked three, hit Carlos Delgado and allowed Chavez's first hit. Hong-Chin Kuo and Stults each pitched two innings; Dario Veras, Jonathan Meloan and Eric Hull each threw one.

Mets on the mound: Mike Pelfrey made his first appearance in an exhibition game, pitching the first two innings. He faced six batters, allowed a base hit to Andy LaRoche (brother of Adam) and achieved five outs on ground balls, including one double-play ball. Vargas struck out two in two innings, and Billy Wagner one in his lone inning of work. Aaron Heilman threw two scoreless innings. Jon Adkins allowed four runs in the top of the ninth.

The Dodgers' Sunday opponents are the Braves at Dodgertown and the Nationals in Viera, both games beginning at 1:05 p.m. Derek Lowe starts for the Dodgers and Chuck James for the Braves. In the other game, the starters are Brett Tomko for the Dodgers and Jason Simontacchi for the Nationals.
