Victor Zambrano out for year... Zito on the horizon?

Hearing rumblings that the Mets might trade a future stud (don't know who) for Barry Zito, who would replace Victor Zambrano, who needs Tommy John surgery. Thoughts?

Zambrano needs Tommy John surgery? I was watching that game and I didn't think it was that bad.

Yup, he's done for the year, needing Tommy John to repair torn elbow ligaments.

They won't get Zito anytime soon.

Zito is the big name that most teams will target by the deadline. So they big stud will have to be bigger than any other stud offered. This could get very interesting. But I bet the Mets go real big if they have to as it is obvious they went all out in the off season and don't want that to go to waste.

People forget that losing Zambrano hurts the Mets even more because it means John Maine enters the rotation.

Well, when Maine gets off the DL which will be in about 10 days or so, I mean.

At least Bannister comes off then, too.

Bannister isn't any good either. The Mets better start praying Alay Soler gets ready.

The Mets honestly should go after Clemens. They have the $$, a good team, and a need in the rotation. It's a perfect fit.

except every Mets fan in the world hates Clemens and he would probably get murdered on his homefield in his first start.
