Because he's inconsistent, and the 2nd and 3rd time a batter sees Willis they hit him hard.

That's what the Marlins tried to do ...Quote:

Except for a July where he got roughed up (and only pitched 29 innings) he ran an ERA of 1.29, 2.06, 2.62, 1.06, and 2.49. Seems pretty consistent.Quote:

I see, I wouldn't trade Willis for Wright either, but would take Willis over Verlander in a heartbeat. Willis is just a year older, has already established himself in the majors for multiple seasons, is coming off a Cy Young caliber season. And he's a lefty.
Willis will be after this season though. And of course if you are the Marlins you would make the trade but it takes two to tango and that's the problem. No way would the Mets get rid of Wright!
Thank god this never happened.
You can say that again. I might not have survived.
Apparently things have changed in the past 2 years.

I wouldn't do Willis for half a grilled cheese and a glass of milk
I would trade Willis for AA catcher Jose Lopez who hit .222 with 2 home runs and 10 rbis last year and is 23 years old.
Oh wait. No I wouldn't.
