ootp is hilarious. it worked out pretty much exactly how it had to though... steal one of the 4 games mathewson didnt pitch in, and let mathewson be awesome in the 3 games he did pitch.

That's the point. The Anaheim GM might have cost me a World Series with the Detroit pitching staff. I don't think I've ever seen an open team be anything but auto'd.

He used the same rotation I would have used.

    Re: 2058 LDS

I had zero intention of hitting the auto button on Detroit. Had Hammer not offered to run their roster I was going to manually do it myself...which would have included starting Mathewson 3 times.

The auto button doesn't do anything with the number of starters the team uses. Had I hit it with a 5 man rotation set it would have put 5 starters in, which makes no sense in the playoffs.

In short, had Hammer not set that rotation I would have.

And even if I manually changed that to a 3 man rotation first then auto'd Christy would have started 3 games anyway, so I don't see why there's a valid complaint here.

    Re: 2058 LDS

Prov can correct me if I'm wrong, but considering how meticulous he was in managing open teams even through the regular season and with extnensions I doubt he ever just blindly hit the auto button if an open team made the playoffs.

I remember an open team even winning the TSSL World Series one year.

Maybe it's just me then... I always hit the auto button, but that doesn't mean everyone else has to. I think I'm hitting the OOTP wall.

I think you, me, and prov have the 3 most talented teams in MSL right now and 2 of us lost. It's just OOTP being OOTP

OOTP didn't put Rivera in for the 9th in game 7.... That's for sure. O's were up one and gave up 2. In bottom of 9th.

Huh? I'm not sure what you're looking at, but you were the home team in game 7. Detroit scored an insurance run in the 9th to make it 4 - 1. You scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th and lost 4 - 3.

Thanks, but I think the Cubs are better than my team. #2 pitching, top 5 offense. I fully expect them to represent the NL this season. I can't believe OOTP let me out of the first round lol. A grand slam from Boza off of Ricky Jones was the deciding blow in a 4 - 3 game 1 victory. Thankfully, we didn't go 7. Even with Eck, I didn't like the match-up. They each won and lost 1 game.

Congrats Prov, I told you that you'd send my team into the fire sell. Really wish I could have won one with this unit.

Should be good series.. But I feel your starting rotation too good for me. I'd say you in 6
