Well that was a surprise. I didn't get around to changing my offer so I guess some better offers were pulled. Didn't see it coming.

swing and a whiff for LA. I think that's the first at least not totally way out of whack deal on one of the imports in a while.

Cespedes didn't like me, but I think I offered 13 plus for 7 years. I like him. That's a livable contract.

Re: 2051 Free Agency: Round 2 signings

i was the one who pulled the offer... i originally offered 7x19, but when i did the math on my payroll after the drop, it went from like 130 to 85... and i got kinda panicky. plus, the royals had dealt most of their stuff at the positions i wouldve needed, and 4 other guys in fa wouldnt listen to me... so the quick fix free agency/trade to make myself a contender strategy wasnt gonna go as planned.

plus, the quick fix free agency/trade to make myself a contender strategy usually sucks anyway. eventually another hitting prospect will be ready... gibson by mid season this year hopefully, mordabito by the start of next.

I lost a big Chunk of payroll with Leyte (9 Mil) and Boden (13.5 Mil) Retiring. I would have prefered Leyte stayed though. He was still 9 10 9.....

But Now I have a good OF going forward with him, Ashburn and soon Sosa once his power kicks in.

I offered 8 x 12, and I knew it was kinda low, but I figured it was worth a shot. Looking back on it, I could have gone much higher than what I offered.
