Oh I'm not gone, I just had to voice my concern. I really don't mind the massive contracts for George and what not, I think you and I have discussed this before, we fully expected that. And I really want to stay in this league since I'm leaving S3SL.

I understand your concern, and I'm glad you aren't leaving because of this. I have been running this league for 30+ seasons now and there have been very few problems, and since this is the first time I have ever done contraction this is the first problem of it's kind for this league, and should be the last since I don't plan on any more contractions. Btw, George's contract wasn't as massive as it could have been either. One GM did offer $20 mil a year but he didn't like the team.

So far I am leaning towards OM's idea. I would have to do some work on Pitt's money situation since they would be out a lot of FA money, but it seems like it would be fair/beneficial to all teams, although Sabu would probably argue otherwise.

You can't manually edit Pittsburgh's finances, though?

You can edit their finances. It's been awhile since I had have 6.5, but there's multiple ways of fixing his finances... just depends on how he does it, it may not take a lot of time.

Only way would be to increase his cash total which I believe increases free agent money. Maybe extension money too. I don't know why they didn't think to make editing money totals possible. It's like they didn't expect messes like this to happen.

Would you care to enlighten me? Editing cash totals is the only way I am aware of. If there is a better way, I am all for it.

I did not mean it as a knock to your league and I understand. It was just pretty damn disgusting to look at, when these sim leagues are meant to be FUN. I'd much rather lose out on Samuel Torres because some guy bid 600k vs. my 500k or whatever, than to lose Torres to a couple of million, or 5 million in this case and as it's been stated, the prospects will be reduced to MLCs when they're called up. It's cheating the system, finding a loophole, and pissing the entire league off. Not cool at all. Leo had the best adjective for it.. perverse.

If I remember correctly, whenever I had to fix a mistake when I accidentally signed a player to the wrong team in the early days of TSSL, I edited that player's contract to be a MLC so that the team got the money back and would not affect the finances when I released that player to put him on the right team.

There is also editing the amount of cash he has, and the TV and marketing contracts, but you would have to remember to fix them after a season otherwise he'd be raking in a billion in revenue each season.

Most likely going with OM's idea. If that's what worked for him no reason it can't work for us. It doesn't sound like it should take me too much time either.
