Slyder's up
Los Angeles Dodgers select SP Edward Botella. Pitchers went earlier than I drafted and wanted to ensure I got at least 1 pitcher I really liked. Botella's talent is in line with the rest of the guys.
San Francisco selects LF John "Pumpkin" Deas.

SP Russell Deel for LA
Felt like putting my thoughts on the Dodgers Draft here.
Rd 1 Pick 13: Jimmy Feldman . The Yanks took the last pitcher I would have considered for 13th with Harris. I felt Feldman fit my park the best of the hitters that was left with the combo 10 gap and 4 speed, he isn't speed demon but he could still be an asset with the gap shots. I did consider Bingo Lewis (the only pitcher truly considered) with this pick, but I figured he stood a better chance at maybe reaching 18. Needless to say Long went at the very next pick, 14.
Rd 1 Pick 18: Clark Reedy. The combination of speed, contact, eye made it difficult to pass on Reedy after Lupus (the only other hitter I really looked at) was auto'd to Toronto the very pick before. Seeing as Mach traded up to 20 for a similar infielder (Boyle), I feel confident that I made the right choice and not get too fancy and try to trade back. CJ of course had to go and shoot holes in my attempts to move up for another guy by taking both of my “favorites” at that point in Stein and Castro. I really hoped Castro would have fallen a bit further as he was doing nothing great but solid at everything and fit my park athletically.
Rd 2 Pick 4 (28): Edward Botella. Throws a real heavy ball (68% gb rating), good endurance, largely developed, throws a lot of strikes, I couldn't risk him falling far enough for me to draft him. So I packaged up a 1b that I really had no plans on using (even after his boost late last year) and got a player I liked. At worst he's an arm to put in the pen in 2051 when a number of pen arms could possibly walk/retire.
Rd 2 Pick 12 (36): Russell Deel. Deel won't over power anyone with his fastball topping out at 90 mph, but I like guys who throw a lot of strikes. Deel like my last pick Botella already has his stuff developed, he doesn't have the same movement as Botella but I hope at least one of them are good for rotation/pen work come deadline time.
Rd 2 Pick 18 (42): TBA. I am largely looking at BPA, whoever I feel gives the most value to the system will be the pick, what position that is I am not sure.
Thanks for the AIM Slyder
CHI (A) Select SP Larry Dart
San Diego takes a chance on CF Lyndon "Neptune" Miele hoping he receives a contact boost along the way.
