I'm 4th in fan interest, I've decreased payroll from the previous year, and I have no money. I mean the team that's one spot ahead of me in SD is 3rd in fan interest and has a significantly higher pay roll with the ability to spend still. The A's have won the division 7 of the last 8 years. It's just not adding up to me because I had a higher pay roll last season with the ability to extend guys.

The financial workings of the league have been a continuous mystery to me.

I haven't started free agency yet anyway so I still have a window to experiment with some things to see if it's fair.

Just looking at the numbers, I made about 20 mil more than you.

Only 4 of that was through attendance, which is what I believe fan interest controls (you may or may not have been that high all season long)

I made about 2.5 mil more in playoffs revenue, but I gouged my fans with $16 tickets during the playoffs so that probably accounts for that one.

But I also made 12 million more in broadcasting revenue and 2 million more in merchandising revenue, and I have no idea what drives those. (I think market size has some affect on broadcasting revenue but I'm not sure)
