General update about 2055 going forward

I have enough interest from GML GMs to warrant expansion of the league. However, due to the tricky dynamics of that it is still not a certainty that this happens. I'm going to input the expansion into my test league and run some test sims over the next few days to make sure the game doesn't create unrealistic stats or other problems that may arise.

If the test sims are a success I'll be adding 4 teams to the league, randomly generating players to fill the rosters so we don't have to go through the headaches of an expansion draft. After that I'll give current GM's an open invitation to swap teams if they want (but by swap teams I don't mean changing your current roster to another team name/city. Only switch if you want to start afresh with a new team).

After current GM's make their decisions the 4 new GMs (ufcfan, Epic Dean, 305, and Nappy Roots) will select from the 4 open teams and we can get started with 2055.

No matter what ufc is entering the league as he'll be replacing zodious for the White Sox if we do not expand.

As for the draft, I'm currently undecided on what would be most fair for the 4 new teams' placement in the draft. I may give them healthy farms and put them at the bottom, or at least at the bottom of the non-playoff teams so as not to make it unfair to the crummy teams who typically at least have a good pick to look forward to.

As for the 2055 draft, expansion or no expansion, these guys will be rolling into MSL this season.

I'm trying to minimize the amount of dead time before we start 2055.

Any form of expansion draft would drag it out.

After we discussed the farm system bit, I think it's fine. I just worried about barren teams causing loss of interest as I intimated to you.

I know (think?) you're joking, but the only "bad" contract left is Williams, and he apparently still has good value. All my big ones are done after this year.

Expansion teams are going to suck. All expansion teams do, they require work to build up. They can't start with a bunch of talent, that would make no sense and wouldn't be fair to teams that worked to make their clubs good.

They're not going to be contendors by any means but unless I can get established GMs to take on the rebuild projects (already have one volunteer) I'd rather not risk newbies being shied away by crummy teams. Because of that I'm reluctant to make them Detroit bad.

Well, I'd probably take one to build up. But Atlanta's kinda in a rebuild themselves, so if you'd rather give the newbs a more established team, I'd completely understand.
