Decided this team deserves a thread with the way they've started. It's going to feel like a different team without Grant and Irvin but I needed another starting pitcher DESPERATELY.
Lineup:
1 SS #3 Alan Trammell
2 LF #33 Larry Doby
3 1b #32 Dick "Richie" Allen, Leftfield
4 CF #64 Earl "Rock" Averill, Centerfield
5 2b #3 Dale "The Murph" Murphy
6 RF #10 Rusty "LeGrand Orange" Staub
7 3b #69 Bertram Grover Weeks
8 CA #56 Patricia Smith
Hopefully I can get Murphy (at least) signed to an extension and then largely my lineup is untouched unless I chose to make a splash. Doby I know has moved from 2 to 6 and now back to 2. Both spots he has simply produced and I don't have my usual #2 type hitter and he's probably closest to it that I've got.
Bench
1 #96 Billy Goodman
2 #47 Michael "Dangerous" Metzler
3 #0 Willie Mays Hayes
4 #4 Danny Rodriguez
5 #88 Albert "Dr. Focus" Salas
I love my bench from the top 3. Goodman is a glove that can play almost anywhere, Metzler is one of my favorite "pinch hitters" off the bench. Hayes is a speed demon who could be given another chance as an every day guy if someone goes down to an injury. Rodriguez is the backup catcher and Salas draws a walk but could easily be replaced as he only plays 1 position (1b).
Rotation:
1 #82 Ricky Jones
2 #2 Jose "Black Diamond" Mendez
3 #61 Robert Ellis
4 #23 Edward Botella
Mendez bridges the gap between Jones and Ellis, I am hopefully with a trio of Jones, Mendez, and Ellis will be competitive with other teams playoff rotations.
Bullpen:
1 #8 Deshawn Russell
2 #29 Nickolas Coon
3 #21 Martin Saleem
4 #51 Moshe Landers
5 #66 Jimmy Forbes
6 #80 Boris Alonso
7 #39 Bob "Rapid Robert" Feller
Russell is closer right now, but if he isn't careful I could very easily swap him and Coon (especially if Coon continues to show signs he's made the turn as a reliever). Saleem's return to LA has been a resounding success.
