Future draft class ideas

We ran through over a decade bringing in a lot of old school legends. After that I brought in baseball movie characters.

However, the well is about run dry on the latter, so I figured I'd poll the league GMs on where to go in the future.

Ideas that have been thrown about include the following

- Go back to finding old school legends not yet used. There's still some.

- Real players from back in the day that aren't quite legends (Think Chris Sabo, Benito Santiago, etc)

- Front office type personnel (GMs, managers, owners, et al)

- Our real names (or some fake name of a GM's choosing if they don't want to use their own... this would be 1 draft only, obviously)

- Other sport movies besides baseball

- Random non-sports moveis (I could probably make an entire class from Hangover characters, for example)

- Video Games (GTA series could probably compose an entire class)

- Wrestlers

The only thing I want to avoid is stuff done in the other active leagues. So, no rolling with the real draft classes, as that's what Trendy's doing. No Simpsons or Family guy or GI Joe or anything else Prov has used in TSSL.

(Wrestlers, if popular, would be the only exception to that rule as there's a lot of wrestlers that weren't in Prov's draft, mostly those that debuted after his 2015 draft)

Anyway, vote on all ideas you like. I may or may not end up using them but it'd be nice to know what's popular league-wide and what is not.

Also, feel free to post any ideas not mentioned here/in the poll.

I went with four options but I think the ones that would be most interesting to me is doing the GMs again since most of us (except Molina, OM, maybe Phillyfan) were not around for that first concept. The other idea I like is sports characters from other movies. I'm down for Willie Beamon and some Charlie Conway/Gordon Bombay/Fulton Reed...any Mighty Duck actually too.

I was around for both. My hitters in the HOF. I went with video games as such. Why not have sonic the hedgehog lead off for your team?


Then again I wouldnt be opposed for a chance to be in the HOF twice

If we went with a real GM class I'd change my closer's name back to the original one.

I only did that because the game named him Isidro (my middle name) and I figured why not.

If video game or some other fictional thing wins, can we at least avoid things like Inanimate Carbon Rod or things that really aren't logical names or names at all. I like how grounded the drafts are.

Yeah, nothing like that.

Stuff like Sonic Hedgehog, Donkey Kong, and Mega Man might be the strangest ones that come out of that lot if we went there.

I'd have to figure out how to handle one-name characters like Mario (with not including them being an option)

Although, when I included that option I more had in mind things like the GTA series (so Tommy Vercetti, Niko Bellic, et al...realistic names and such).

And if Wrestlers win out I'll probably take the same route as Prov and use their real names and their stage names as the nickname. With some exceptions. I'd rather have Damien Sandow than Aaron "Damien Sandow" Haddad, for instance. I'd likely use the stage name if it's not some gimmick name like Macho Man basically.
