Discussion on A proposed Rule Change

Given that there is a higher demand of sellers than buyers and the buyers don't have enough assets to give the sellers and thus the sellers can't rebuild and never contend

As a counter, why not starting with the new year allow 3 years of picks to be traded (So in January of 2050 you could trade 2050/2051/2052 picks), its some additional work but with the tracking thread (and I'd help do it if need be) i think it would provide an overall benefit to the league in terms of getting more teams active and competitive without 7 year rebuilds

The problem isn't tracking the picks. I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to that sort of thing.

The problem is the further in advance you trade draft picks the harder it is to asses the value of them. It's harder to determine how high that pick may or may not be.

I'll take it into consideration, though.

Of course, teams that should be buying still selling isn't helping the issue.

I'm looking at a rebuild here pretty soon and I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to be able to get fair value with 75%+ of the league selling.

Just let things cycle through. This happens in every league and every league manages just fine.

disagree, its much worse in MSL because of the dynasties... we already allow those picks to be traded in june... how much harder is it to determine the value in February than it is in June

independent of the buy/sell aspect, I do like the idea of opening up the next class for trade a bit earlier.

In fact, Colorado, Houston, and Montreal represent a change in guard. LA is rebuilding. KC is getting old. Baltimore is about ready to lay siege with their youth.

    I'm not a fan of a it.

I think the biggest issue is so many people selling instead of trying to compete.

Extending the selling power of those dynasties and the buying power of those trying to sell only makes the issue worse.

Its the mental approach... look at Chicago for example... in TBL that team woulda bought because they were 1 or 2 pieces away... here they firesale because KC is just that much better and he doesn't have enough ammo to make up the gap

As a person whose doing rebuilding a lot more than you, I feel like an expert in the subject... its been this way for 6-7 sim seasons now... its a trend not a blip

KC may not be at the top much longer. They're getting old and don't have much of a farm. Anyone a few pieces away shouldn't try and blow up their team in fear of KC.

You have to look at more than just this year.

Re: Discussion on A proposed Rule Change

I'm new to this but with the way I've been working I don't think I'll be or have picked in the first round of the draft for the first four or five seasons I've been in the league. I'm not sure how much things will change if most of the league is looking to sell, you only have so many buyers. I'd buy more, but right now I don't want to give up some assets when I can find a quick fix like my 1B in FA every couple years.
