That was a fun sim.
This is probably my last stand with this core. Leavens is quickly dieing, Trosky has lost ALL power. I forsee a deconstruction of one of the best rotations in baseball after this season:(. Hopefully I've tinkered enough to at least be a threat to get a title before it all ends.
Trosky's contract is going to suck if he doesn't retire.
I'll take him off your hands if I get your pick :)
I knew it would. I can usually afford one dead weight (if only 1 or 2 years) but him plus Mays, Grover, and Lew (next year) ties up too much money, even though 3 of the 4 are still great/legendary, I cant address other needs. I would need the Yankees to fill the needs after this year... even then it would be tight.
Plus I've gone the entire time I've been in the league competing for league championships piecing together lineups that on paper NEVER were truly my lineups. Also never having ANY farm, my only real resource was I had a 130 million dollar budget which was higher than most everyone else potential except the Yankees LOL.
I may take you up on that but first would be see what my rotation, pen, and Mays could net me. I wouldn't mind just sticking him in aaa until he retired. I still hope to get Grover a ring in LA before he leaves. It would be a shame to see him do like Randy Johnson and win one somewhere else after being so dominant for so long in Dodger Blue.
I can swing you ML talent. Wouldnt be a straight salary dump. But if you're interested, I'll be game. I only pay one guy anyways, lol
I can certainly help with that, in terms of eating bad deals.
I want my first ring :(
Alexander should retire a dodger
I've really got to upgrade the starting pitching this off-season.
If I trip into a WS ring this year, it may still happen. I don't want him to be the best player on the worst team in baseball. Its not a case where he'd be breaking in on a bad team like many prospects he's 32. He deserves to be winning Cy Youngs for playoff contenders and playing meaningful games in September until he retires. I want to completely scrap this and build a team in my mold. I have never had an offense that truely fit my style. I've pieced together offenses "just good enough" to help an awesome pitching staff.
You gotta explore the market for Grover if you're situation dictates rebuild.
Top 2 prospects lose talent...
The rebuild in Oakland stuck firmly in neutral
Going to have to deal White/Simmons in the offseason
