    Just kidding....back to the topic.
Yeah, Sabu pulled a fast one on us, OOTP, and the game itself. Does it suck? Yeah it does, but it shouldn't be the concern of us.
If we are all for "re-drafting" the prospects that were picked in a new contraction draft, I think that is the most sound way of doing it. It allows for a re-distribution of the talent that was left over from the contracted teams, and allows for everyone to get their share. That being said, it shouldn't be done as a way to penalize Sabu.

    Re: Free Agency Solution

Time to beat the old dead horse some more. Regardless of what other GM's reasoning behind my fixing this is, the fact is that I am reversing something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. I am not out to penalize anybody, nor do I care how much money a GM wants to spend as long as it's within the rules and not finding loopholes around the rules.

We got some great smilies here.

Now that America's Got Talent is over, I am going to start on the releasing/2 more draft rounds (using the top 48 players in a random order decided by a random number generator and assigned to the teams based on the posted contraction draft order), and work on deleting the remaining prospects. Hopefully within the next couple of days FA period 2 will be posted and we can move on from this.

Eh, not too shabby. Got a pretty decent job, retirement account that lost a few hundred last quarter , saving for a house. You know, usual life stuff.

    too late.

Basically I was used to weed out who the valuable prospects were and now people can just copy them down and draft them when applicable.

    Whatev.

Lol at the support from the General.

I figured free agency is the only way I can survive now because everyone in the past was afraid to trade with me. Oh well.

Also, people are acting like I'm going to bleed from my vagina with this awful 104 million dollar payroll I have. From my time in the league (2005-2026) look at the payroll jumps and balances in my team. What happened? I evened out. I know what the **** I'm doing.

PS Tycobb you won in 2027 after I left. Nice try. Trade with me sometime ******. arf arf.

Ps give me the first pick in this draft

    Re: Free Agency Solution

Look, no matter what decision Molina made somebody was going to get screwed.

The mistake was made when he allowed the prospects to be bid on in free agency and that led to the debacle that ensued.

From there he had three choices

    1. Let a team take advantage of a loophole while underdeveloped prospects get paid like established stars. (the parity of the league as well as GMs who didn't know about the loophole get screwed)

    2. Go with Porter's idea, or some variation of it, and Pittsburgh really gets screwed.

    or

    3. The choice he's gone with and Pittsburgh gets somewhat screwed

and rofl@asking for the #1 pick in what's to be a loaded draft to be handed to you as compensation. A bit much?

Well I'd rather keep the 20 some odd prospects I rightfully signed but...

Support I will. I spent a lot in S3SL and was ridiculed for it. Then I won 2 WS, and the hate stopped....but the bitterness remains.

    Re: Free Agency Solution

But really, how much is Pittsburgh getting screwed here?

I mean, I guess there's a bit of an opportunity cost involved because the strategy might have been a bit different but it's not like Pittsburgh didn't sign major league talent as well.

They're certainly not getting screwed by "losing" the prospects. That's just an error in judgment by the commissioner being fixed.

He's not being ridiculed on the sole grounds of spending a lot.

Hell, I'm not even trying to ridicule him at all. I just don't think underdeveloped prospects should be receiving ~10 million dollar contracts.

Sabu tried to take advantage of a loophole. He knows OOTP and saw the opportunity. Kudos to him. But putting the prospects in the FA pool is/was bad for the league and that faux pas is being fixed. Let's move on.

I dislike GMs being called out on for how they run their teams. Which is exactly what's going on here...Sabu did something and everybody seems so intent on "saving him from himself." Which is bullshit. Just how when I signed LaChance to a ridiculous contract everybody was like LOL U GONNA LOOS LOLOLOL. But then LaChance provided pieces to my championship teams.

It's not like it's a choice of one or the other.

There are far more reasonable forms of compensation you can receive that doesn't involve allowing the poor to get poorer by forcing the teams that finished with the worst records to move further down in the draft.

Again. It's less about how he's running his team and more about the concept of underdeveloped prospects being in the blind bidding process.

It's a league issue. Not a Pittsburgh/Sabu issue. Pittsburgh's simply the team that put the issue in the spotlight by taking advantage of it. That's not really a slight on Sabu, but it's still an issue.

And yes, I was a bit off base with the "saving him from himself" retorts.
