There are far more reasonable forms of compensation you can receive that doesn't involve allowing the poor to get poorer by forcing the teams that finished with the worst records to move further down in the draft.

I guess if you want it to be fair you should get 7 of the picks and I should get zero. Maybe I should not even be allowed players with 2 arms on my team. Either way, I'll still beat you.

I inherited a team that lost valuable free agents and 90+ games last season. Minus the contracted teams, sounds like It's not a stretch to hand me the #1 pick especially after the wahhhmbulance that happened from people like you.

Your reductio ad absurdum arguments and condescending attitude doesn't negate the fact that there are more reasonable forms of compensation can be given that doesn't involve distorting the draft order.

    Re: Free Agency Solution

But if you want to play reductio ad absurdum, how about this?

Why should other teams who finish with a record worse than Pittsburgh's be punished? Now do they have to be compensated?

Ok, Pittsburgh gets the #1 draft pick regardless of record. Now do we compensate the teams that are moved down with the #1 pick in the following year's draft?

What if there's more than one? Do we stretch it out down the years?

Now what about those teams that are getting bumped in the future drafts?

When does the cycle of screwing one team to try and make it up to another team end?

Also, what happens if Pittsburgh does end with the worst record? Now you're not even being compensated. Do you now change your demands until Pittsburgh gets something they otherwise might not have received?

LaChance wasn't a underdeveloped 20 yr old prospect either to be fair. The isn't a good way to end this and leave the decision up to MoMo. The Commish of a league that had 30 season under the book. I figured I started this crap with plan "B" so I have to weigh in. If Sabu keeps his guys, He only has the 4th best farm, in which he paid about 50-60 million for give or take. It's not really a given that they even develop, lose talent or boost for most of the guys he gave big money for. I wouldn't give Sabu the 1st pick in the "new" draft. But a sandwich pick in between rounds 1 and 2 in the ammy at least would be at least fair.

I rather Sabu keep the guys he signed for 50/60 million than giving him the 1st pick in the next draft.

I'll go a step farther, give him 3 sandwich picks and lets call it a day

And Sabu, since your such a baller, I'm sure you'll end up just fine in a couple years, you don't need this prospect heist to ruin your image as one of the best to ever play this game

How about no steps further on this matter period, and let Molina work. Sounds like a better idea to me.

I will close this thread if there continues to be senseless bickering and flaming, children. And I mean that to everyone. Group hug, let it go, and Merry Kwanza to all.

In this context, no. But feel free to insult his favorite real team, that's encouraged. And he can insult the Padres. Maybe he'll be like Mofo.

That's too easy. The Pirates kinda suck.
