Molina's Sim League Tentative Contraction/Realignment/Draft Plan

Right now I am planning on contracting the Red Sox, Royals, Tigers, Nationals, Astros, and Giants. The Pirates will also be moving to the AL Central to even out the divisions at 4 teams each. That will give us the following alignment.

    AL East
    Bluejays-Foster
    Devil Rays-Open
    Orioles-OM
    Yankees-DH

    AL Central
    Pirates-Open
    Twins-Shadow
    Reds-Mission
    Whitesox-Open

    AL West
    Angels-Open
    Athletics-Open
    Mariners-Open
    Rangers-Molina

    NL East
    Braves-KoZ
    Marlins-Open
    Mets-Clutch
    Phillies-JCBizkit

    NL Central
    Brewers-TyCobb
    Cardinals-Porter
    Cubs-cjkalt
    Indians-madsheep

    NL West
    Diamondbacks-mntwinsfan
    Dodgers-Slyder
    Padres-Leo
    Rockies-PhillyFan

For the contraction draft I will be assigning a number, 1-24, to each team in alphabetical order. The numbers will then be used to determine a random draft order. Once the draft order is determine, as usual, teams with GM's will receive priority over teams without a GM. For the contraction draft, the draftees will not be signed until regular FA is over. That way they will be signed for much less, but also for 1 year contracts. It will be up to the GM as to whether or not they resign the drafted player before the end of the season.

That's is the plan as it stands right now. What do you all think?

Sounds good to me. Seems like with this contraction we are going to have some great farm systems all around.

This could get interesting... Kelty is clearly the #1 pick, but comes with a lot of risk as he is minimally loyal. He could screw a franchise for 20+ million! Can't wait for the draft order so I can begin to strategize!

I never realized how tough the AL East is until this thread. I was hoping to add a bunch of pieces this year, but now I don't know if I'll be able to make a dent in OM, and DH's hold on this division.

Yep, me too unfortunately. I'm still glad that GM is gone. Too many headaches with him, but he sure knew how to play the game.

I randomized a draft order a couple of days ago. I can go ahead and post it tonight if you want. No big deal to me.

Change of plans. KoZ wants to take over the Braves so they will be sticking around. Instead I will add the Tigers to the contraction list and move the Pirates to the AL Central. I think that should still work out to 4 teams in each division.

Pitt were the Brewers biggest rival when I first started out in this league.
