    Twins MN Twins Trivia

Well, it'd be fun if we could get some active guys/gals (doesn't have to be just Twins fans) testing their MLB and Twins trivia knowledge. I'm still looking for an answer to this one (from somewhere else):

    Next question (not that hard).

In 1969, Rod Carew stole home 7 times, tying an AL record. How many times did he steal home in his career?

Double kudos to whoever can give us the name of the player who's record Carew tied.

Harmon couldn't have stolen home if you gave him a 60 foot head start. Haha.. he could bang the damn ball, but wasn't noted as being too terribly light on his feet.

Nope. I think you should re-read the question again. There's actually two questions.

    (1) How many times did Carew steal home in his career?
    (2) Who's AL record did Carew tie in 1969 when he stole home 7 times?

She can give you a better answer since she followed the Twins for a very long time.

Yah, wish she was around. Hopefully someone can get ahold of her and let her know about the place.

While we are waiting for this poster to answer your question, I will do a Twin trivia.

Which current Twin has a batting average of .378 in the playoffs?

Without thinking too hard about it, I'd have to say Torii Hunter. He had pretty good postseasons the past couple of years. I dunno if that's it, but without really trying to analyze it, that'd be my guess

You are wrong. I was thinking him when the question was asked by the White Sox announcers, but he is not it. Hawk Harrelson was thinking Jacques Jones and Darrin Jackson said Torii Hunter.

I will give you couple of cracks at it.

Jones!?!?! hhaha, shows how much he pays attention. Jones has batted like .200 in the playoffs. The guy sucks.

Ok, since you say current Twins.... not Hunter. Can't be Jones, Punto, Mauer, Lecroy, Morneau.....

Cudduyer!? I remember him having a decent playoffs last year, but I can't remember him at all the previous years.

    BINGO!

Michael Cuddyer was the guy that batted .378 in the playoffs last year. He was fantastic in the playoffs along with Torii last year. That performance gave him the starting job this year. So far though, he has been okay. He has to do a lot better.

Speaking of Jacques, Hawk was talking about how he thinks Jacques has lost his bat speed in the telecast tonight. Gee no kidding! Jacques is a strikeout or a DP waiting to happen.

Ok, maybe you were thinking of me! Rod Carew stole home a total of 17 times in his career. And I think it was Pete Reiser(?) he tied in 1969 - however some records show that Ty Cobb stole home 8 times but who knows.
