Not Aggie, but a good guess.
Here's a hint. He is a Dr.
Mike Marshall, 1979
Very good. He pitched in 90 games that season. You're up.
The Metrodome opened in 1982.
Which Twin lead the team in outs made that year?
To get this thread back on line, I'll guess Gary Gaetti. He hit .230 in 145 games (117/508). He did, however, hit 25 homers that season.
I had to go back and look this one up again...you are incorrect.
Close, though.
How about Gary Ward?
You sir, are correct. Mr. Ward created 430 outs that year. Mr. Gaetti came in at a close second with 428.
The difference in batting averages got me there. Ward hit .289 and was considered one ot the better hitters on the team and Gaetti hit .230.
Who holds the Twins' record for IP in a season?
Blyleven with 325 in...1973.
Correct. Not likely anyone will beat that record with the 5-man staff and the fact that starters who pitch 6 innings are considered to be "work-horses".
