    Twins Joe Mauer

Will be the starting 1st baseman next season. He will no longer be a catcher, because of the injuries he has taken behind the plate. Concussions were the big thing last season. This move will keep Joe healthy and playing every day. Good move I think was made here.

Mauer is a hell of a player, and I don't think the Twins will suffer in the slightest. The only question for me is where they make up for the lack of power that Mauer has compared to a typical first baseman.

Mauer might not hit the ball out of the park, but he can hit 40 doubles per season. If the guys that hit in front of him can get on base, he'll drive in 85+ runs. Mauer's defense at 1B should be good.

    Joe Mauer

That's a really good point. Mauer should work out fine. I just think they will need to snag some home runs at another position.
