    This really isn't a big story. Many players are placed on waivers and they don't get traded. As a Twins' fan, I'm not upset about this move.

    neither am I. I thought the Yankees or Red Soxs would have tried to get a trade done for Mauer. Both teams need a catcher upgrade.

    There is a lot of talk going around the internet about Mauer's contract not being "worth it", but he fits very well with either the Yankees or Red Sox. Yankee Stadium is very friendly to lefties with a bit of pop and the green monster is just where a lot of Joe's flyballs will land (either beyond it or bouncing off it). He could hit 25 homers and 45 doubles annually in Boston.
