    Thumbs Up Congrats to Gardy!

He was voted as the 2010 AL Manager of the Year. He's the 2nd Twins' manager to be voted as MoY, with Tom Kelly being the other one. He's been runner up many times before, but finally broke through this year.

Before any of you go ranting on and on about how he doesn't deserve this because he didn't beak NY in the first round, just look at his resume for a second. Only manager with 6 division titles in his first nine seasons, he has won over 800 games in his managerial career, and maintains a close-knit clubhouse with a team that contends every year. Congrats to him, it's very well deserved.

He most definitely deserved the award this year. His club had the 3rd best record in the American league. He did all this with lsoing his close, Joe Nathan for the entire season and also not have his power hitting 1B Justin Morneau for several months and also not in the playoffs.

I'm happy for Gardy. He put together a team that won the division by a comfortable margin after losing a number of players, not to exclude Nathan and Morneau. Many players were on the DL. Thome needed a lot of time off. Hudson missed a few weeks with his injuries. Hardy was out for significant time. None of these injuries really caused a huge problem. Guys stepped up and made the plays. Rauch did a decent job of closing games until Capps came in, then he assumed his former role. Casilla, Punto, Tolbert and Harris all played reasonably while the other guys were out. Cuddyer played very well at 1st down the stretch and the Twins didn't have another option, really.
All things considered, Gardy did his best managing job this season.

To me, this was a no brainer. Gardy is one of the best of this era.

Twins signed manager Ron Gardenhire to a two-year contract extension.
Gardenhire was named the American League's Manager of the Year on Wednesday afternoon and rewarded with an extended commitment Wednesday night. He led the Twins to a second straight American League Central crown this past season and boasts a stellar 803-656 career managerial record.
    Again, a no brainer

I agree, Gardy has lost out several years in a row where he certainly could have won. He has been one of the best managers in the game over the past several years.

He definitely deserved that extension. Hopefully the Twins can do what it takes to finally break through under his management.

Exactly Henks. Twins need to find a way to win the World Series in the next year or two. But first we need to make a few big moves in free agency. Pitching 1st then look to add a bat or two. Someone with power and rbi threat. Next a 2nd baseman that can get on base and steal bases.
