I think we're gearing up for a good post season for the AL Pennant.

I think you are correct. It would be sure fun if it were the Twins and Rays in the AL Pennant Championships.

Twins seem to have the Sox' number this year. 11-5 in the season series, as of now.

Twins win tonight 9-3. Magic number down to 10 games! Twins are playing good baseball right now. We also gained a game for best record in the AL with the Yankees loss. Things could get interesting. We have an easy rest of the season. Best record in baseball for the Twins could happen.

Tonight's win will gives them a 12-5 record against the Sox.
Since the all star break, the Twins have only lost series against Cleveland and Texas. The Twins have won 10 out of the last 12 games played in new Commisky with tonight's 9-3 win. Capps did a nice job of throwing strikes and letting his defense play behind him. Danny Valencia has done an outstanding job of playing at the major league level. He was quite a question mark coming into the season.
Tomorrow's pitching matchup, Pavano v. Buehrle, means that if you blink or go the the kitchen for a snack, you could miss an inning.

Where do you guys rate this team to the 87 and 91 world champion teams? Honestly I think this one is the best team we have put together. Maybe with Morneau, hopefully returning before years end we could have an even better team.

Some people give up on their teams too quickly. The Sox are only 8 games out, but it would take quite a change in the way the teams are playing to change anything.
As to ranking this Twins' team, I think it is one of the better teams that the club has put together. The ability to increase payroll and bring in the talent needed makes a lot of difference. I honestly think this team could be better next season than they are now, especially if Pavano is re-signed.

I agree. With Morneau healthy for a full season, and all the pressures off a lot of the guys (cough Mauer cough) of living up to expectations in the new stadium, I think they will be better next year. If Nathan comes back ready to go, and we re-sign Pav...this team will be one of the most dominant teams in the league.

Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

Wasn't born for either of those prior teams, but this team we have right here is strong top to bottom. Not very many or at all any weak spots on the team. I really like this teams chances especially if Morneau can come back.
