Twins get Capps

Twins picked up Matt Capps plus some cash for Wilson Ramos and Joe Testa.

I figured Ramos was going to move, since he was stuck behind Mauer, Butera, and Morales. He did have some time up with the Twins early in the year, and I think his first ML game he went 4/4. Hopefully this move will be good for his career.

Capps will help out a Twins bullpen who could really use it.

I like the move. Rauch will get his save opportunities, Capps will get his. Gardy gets another option. I'm not sure the Twins are done moving people.

According to an article I read today, Rauch is going to be used as a setup guy, and Capps will become the closer. A different article I read today says that there's a large number of Twins fans who are very displeased with Bill Smith. They are not happy that we gave up the top catching prospect in the minors for a mediocre closer. IDK, it will be interesting to see how Capps does I guess.

I would not call Capps mediocre. Look at his numbers he is better than Rauch and I do see the addition as something that was needed for our pen. This move makes are pen much stronger. What will the Twins do with Slama? Set up role?

Great move for the Nats here as well...getting a legitimate catching prospect for a guy who, well, was a closer for a last place team.
