    4/5/05: Twins/Mariners

After losing the first game of the year, the Twins are already in a must-win mode. If they lose this game tonight, I think we are going to get swept tommorow.

After a rought day offensively, I don't think it can't get any worse though the Twins can't sleep on Gil Meche either. Meche can flat-out throw the ball well.

I am so glad Johan is on the mound tonight. Games like tonight is what he lives for. Hopefully, he can be his usual Cy-tana self. I expect him to be in the top of his game tonight.

    Meche vs. Cy-tana

I will be around tonight and I will post on the game throughout the night.

Hey, wtf gives... ESPN no longer showing/sharing box scores and pre-game previews!?

If that's the case, I have zero reason to go back to espn until football season.

    WTF IS THIS!

Johan is not at his A game or even his B game. He is pitching like Kyle Lohse.

He is not throwing his strikes and he is all over the place.

    4-0 already.

Heh, Johan Santana is already down 4-0 in the Twins game against the Mariners. Santana really is a second half pitcher, watch him not make the All-Star game but then win 15 games after the All-Star break.

I am already starting to think this will be a Timberwolves-like season.

Thank God the inning is over.

I didn't think this would end.

Here's hoping for a Torii Hunter HR.

    Way to go, Twins.

    A lousy second inning.

Torii gets a walk and then Jacques Jones hits into a DP.

Jacques is in midseason form hitting into a DP.

Why do I think this will be a very long year?

It would have been nice had Joe Mauer got that hit with runners at first and second. Unfortunately, Meche threw a good pitch to strikeout Joe.

    Mariners

Don't worry. The M's are just good this year, it isn't the Twins that are bad .

Wow, too think the M's can take on the AL Central Winner, and the Cy Young winner, vs. a very average pitcher, and have a 4-0 lead after 2 and a half.

    Meche has 4 K's BTW, to Santana's 1.

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.

Good thing I am working tommorow. I am expecting a sweep.

I swear this season better not end up like the Timberwolves or I will be a miserable person this summer. I have been turned off with the Timberwolves all year and I sure as hell don't want to see the same crap with the Twins.

Nice strikeout of Sexson by Johan.

    2 K's for Johan.

Element: After watching the Timberwolves this year, I can't help but have that same concern with the Twins.

As I told you on that M's board (SportsSpot.net), Gil Meche is throwing really good out there. That strikeout of Joe Mauer was pretty good. I thought Joe would hit it.

    Johan is finally being Johan.

You just wonder though if that first inning has cost the Twins.
