    Twins 7-8-05 Twins/Royals

    Here is the pitching matchups.

    Starting Pitchers

    B. Radke vs.
    Z. Greinke

    5-8 Record 1-10
    4.07 ERA 6.09
    70 K 56
    9 BB 24
    20 HR 11

Radke will be on the mound tonight after some time off for a stiff neck. Hope he will get back to his old self. Greinke starts for the Royals. We should be able to hit this guy and score alot of runs. 1-10 record for Greinke. This better be a game we win. Or the season in my eyes is just about over.

Thanks for the game thread and well done with the game thread, mntwinsfan.

How about Brad getting out of the first untouched? Nice!

    Indians are leading BTW

I have a bad feeling the Twins are going to get swept.

Don't be fool with Grienke's record. The guy can flatout pitch and the Twins have had problems with him forever.

Twins will win tonight after the embarrising loss last night. If Zach was so good his record should be much better.

Well Grienke also has no run support too so keep that in factor. Twins fans should be familiar with Twins pitchers pitching so well, but not getting anything to show for it over the years.

The last two games have been embrassing.

BTW, Grienke is shutting down the Twins after 2 innings.

Records have no indication on how well a pitcher is pitching.

I have seen Grieneke pitch since last year. That guy can flat out throw strikes and he gets his ground balls. Reminds me of a younger Brad Radke. Lot of hitters have raved about his stuff.

Speaking of Brad, he is pitching well so far.

He may not have a good year, but he is still a solid pitcher. You have to see Grienke for yourself. That dude can pitch. Go ask the Twins. Twins have constantly raved about him since last year. I will show you some quotes from them about him.

    2-1 Good guys!

I do not want to see Brad pitching anymore tonight. He has been awful. Thank God his counterpart imploded in the sixth. Still I want no part of Brad here.

Here's hoping the Twins can just keep hitting and scoring so Brad could not blwo it.

Thank God Juan got the Twins out of this mess.

This was not a very good performance by Brad.

This was a big win after two frustrating losses. It's very imperative that they win the remaining games this weekend at KC if they want to keep that WC lead.

It was great to see the hitters come through tonight especially in the sixth inning where Zach Grienke, who the Twins has had a tough time against, imploded in that sixth inning. That was huge and that was difference in that game.

Brad almost blew that lead too as he was getting hit hard in the seventh. Fortunately, Juan got the job done in the seventh to get out of that jam that Brad put the Twins in. Juan had a solid eighth and Joe was Joe in the ninth. I gotta say that strikeout that Joe had against a Royal batter was clearly NOT a strike, but the Twins will take it.

Brad did not had a great outing. It wasn't good out there. He got hit pretty hard all night long. He did good in the first two innings of the game, but after that it went downhill. Fortunately, the offense bailed him out there tonight.

Joe Mauer had a great game and a great week. He is starting to turn it around. I expect a big second half from him just like how I expect a big second half from Torii and Jacque.

Luis had a great game too. I tell ya L-Rod has been a great callup. He has been fantastic since he got called up. He and Nick Punto really are alike in terms of the way they play.

    Nick Punto was awesome too.

I thought Jacque had a great night defensively like when he made a great throw to get Angel Berroa out and then when he made a great catch in the OF in that inning.

Big Win. Twins keep the WC lead and they gain a game in which the Sux lost to the A's. How about the A's? They are the only team in baseball that owns She-ca-go all year.
