    Twins Mauer Extension Talks Going Well?

    MLBTR reporting that Joe Mauer talks with the Twins are going around... Rumors are swirling years are money are agreed upon. One outlet even reported a 10 yr deal being done.

    So does everyone think that Mauer will reup with the Twins?

    Olney is now reporting that the deal is not done, but it is going to be more like 8 years rather than 10. Get this done Twins!

    It'd be nice to see the Twins have a true franchise player. For some reason, the thought of seeing Mauer behind the dish for one of the big teams, due to the Twins being unable to retain him, disturbs me more so than other star young players. I guess because he is such a true local product (kind of like Larkin with the Reds.)

    Mauer and the Twins are talking type of contract and length of contract rather than salary now. The deal is nearly done and should be announced prior to heading to Ft. Myers.
