Twins need to do what it takes to get Alfonso Soriano

Twins need a big bat big time. While the offense can be good at times, they are going to need a guy who is gurantee to get the big hit with the bases loaded in big games. That guy is Alfonso Soriano. This is a guy that the Twins need IMO. You add Soriano in that lineup and I feel Justin and Joe don't have to deal with the pressure to get these guys home. If you can bat Soriano second in that lineup, that's pretty darn good with Shannon at leadoff, Soriano at second, Torii at third, Justin at fourth, Joe at fifth, and Lew at sixth. That's a great combo and a great tablesetter. This is a guy that the Twins need.

Steak, Soriano? Where did that come from? I wish they would make an effort to get him. I think it would take a hell of alot to get him. 2 top pitching specs to begin with. I wish I had Terry Ryans job. Someone needs to make Polad open his wallet and start him on a spending spree. So far I have heard Randa,Burroughs,Boone and your idea of Soriano.

Something needs to get done to get some firepower in the lineup. We need to make a move fast. Freaking Ryan said today he will wait till the deadline. July 31. Why wait so long. The time is now. If Ryan waits it may be to late.

I got this from the Dallas Morning News, mntwinsfan. I will look for the link little bit later, but I was reading about that last week. I am going to ask Taylor about the Twins chances to get Soriano. They got a shot to get him. Soriano is a FA waiting to happen and Buck Showalter is not enamored with him.

Terry Ryan can give up Boof Bonser. Twins are so deep with pitching prospects in the minor leagues that Texas can take anyone. The problem is though Texas is probably going to demand Baker or Liriano.

Terry Ryan should give Rangers GM John Hart a phone call and investigate the possibility of getting Soriano. I would love to hear what Texas wants. I think Bonser and other in the Twins farm system can do as good as Liriano and Baker.

Texas is going to want arms to build around in their quest to dethrone those Angels so I feel the Twins got a good shot with the amount of pitchers they got in the farm system.
