LinkMINNEAPOLIS (AP)—Right-hander Clay Condrey(notes) and the Minnesota Twins have agreed to terms on a one-year, free-agent contract.
The Twins announced the deal with the former Philadelphia Phillies reliever Wednesday. Minnesota also released right-handed reliever Bobby Keppel(notes).
The 34-year-old Condrey became a free agent after pitching four seasons for Philadelphia, going 6-2 with a 3.00 ERA in 42 innings last year for the NL champions. Condrey walked 14 and struck out 25. He became a free agent when the Phillies did not tender him a contract in December.
Over parts of six major league seasons, two with the San Diego Padres, Condrey has a record of 18-12 with a 4.10 ERA.
Keppel will play in Japan. He had a 4.83 ERA in 54 innings with 21 walks and 32 strikeouts last year for the Twins.
