Indians Indians Come to the Dome

Tonight, it appears that Scott Baker had his "A" game going. He threw a complete game, 2-hit shutout of the Indians. Asdrubal Cabrera doubled and Johnny Peralta singled to give the Indians their only baserunners.
Baker struck out 5 in the game and only threw 94 pitches to finish the game.

Tomorrow, David Huff faces Anthony Swarzak.
Sunday, its Aaron Laffey v. Nick Blackburn.
I hope Baker's start gives the rest of the staff a kick in the pants. He has pitched very well lately.

Huff did not pitch particularly well today, but Swarzak did not pitch well at all. The Indians won 7-3 today.

Blackburn pitched 2 very good innings today and the Twins scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Unfortunately, the Indians hit 3 homers in the 3rd and scored 6 before Blackburn left the game. Crain came in to get the last 2 outs in the 3rd inning, which he did after walking Shoppach and having Cabrera make an error on Valbuena's grounder.
Blacky's line -- 2.1 IP, 6 hits, 6 runs (all earned), no walks, 2 K's. Disappointing to say the least.

Indians win 7-4, with the Twins scoring their last run in the bottom of the 9th off Wood.
A 2-4 homestand is not what a team that wants to contend needs.

This team has lost 4 series in a row...all against divisional opponents.

If Justin Morneau gets out of his slump, the team will be fine. Until then, they will continue to struggle. Since the All Star break, Justin is 28/107 with 7 homers and 24 driven in.
