Twins Pavano Sparkles in Twins' Debut

Carl Pavano certainly made himself welcome in the Twins' clubhouse today with his performance against the Tigers' Justin Verlander. Pavano's line was 7 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K's. The Twins were ahead 8-0 when he left and ended up winning 11-0. Span was 5/5 with a double, 3 R, 1 RBI. Mauer went 2/4 and hit his 20th homer, and Morneau drove in a couple raising his total to 91 for the season.

With 53 games to go, Pavano could get the ball 10 more times. If he could pitch this well each time out, the Twins should be just fine.

Twins pitching needs consistency. We'll see if he's capable of that.

Pavano could be yet another name we can add to the "He can pitch anywhere.... buy New York." I hope for the Twins sake that he can continue delivering quality starts.

Some people just can't handle New York. Pavano was, apparently, one of them. Randy Johnson didn't do particularly well there, either.

Pavano was never healthy though. We'll never truly know.
Goes without saying this could be one of the most underrated moves of the year JUST based on the fact he owns the central division.

Pitching did not look good today, wasting a nice game from Cuddyer.

Agreed. Keppel pitched OK today, but Baker and Guerrier did not.
