Twins "We're Going To Kansas City, Kansas City Here We Come"

With the Royals having a bunch of underachieving and injured players, how many will the Twins win against the Royals?
    Monday, Blackburn goes against Hochevar
    Tuesdday, Baker goes against Bannister
    Wednesday, its Perkins against Meche.

    No Greinke? Twins sweep.

Not sure what's gotten into the Royals this season. They took 2 of 3 in Minnesota and now the first of this series 4-2. Blackburn wasn't bad tonight, Hochevar looked pretty wild early and the Twins hitters couldn't capitalize. Lots of runners left on base early.
Hope the bats wake up tomorrow.

Twins win 2-1. Baker did not have good stuff tonight, but somehow he managed to get through. His strike/ball ratio was about 2-1, so it's not like he was all over the place. He had a lot of 3 ball counts and guys were fouling him off left and right.

Morneau hits a monster dongo to right center, up into the top of the fountain.

Not as long as his best in that ballpark. He cleared the fountain with one a few years ago.
Keppel looks like he might be pretty good. Another 2+ innings without allowing a run tonight.

The Twins took another series on the road, winning today's game 5-1 behind Mauer's 3/3 day and Cuddyer's homer and 2 RBI. Perkins looked pretty decent allowing 10 hits in 7 innings, walking none and striking out 1. He had 19 groundball outs and 6 flyball outs today, which is pretty good for him. He was keeping the ball down and letting the defense play behind him.
Not a bad way to end the Missouri trip -- 4-2.

Good stuff, they finished the road trip 6-3, which is surprising for a team who has struggled to win on the road all year.

Too bad the Twins couldn't have swept the Royals, but the Royals aren't a bad team. They get the White Sox next (4-4 head-to-head) and the Tigers come to the Dome.

Yeah it would have been nice, but hey, I'll take 6-3 road trip anytime!
