Twins Twins Getting Some Money Back

Manager Ron Gardenhire said he fined 11 players $100 apiece for forgetting the team was taking infield practice before their game against Florida. The Twins are one of the few teams -- if not the only team -- that does the traditional fielding exercise before every spring training game. This time, the infielders and catchers assumed their positions, but the outfielders were nowhere to be found. Neither were the pitchers, who are supposed to use that time in the outfield for a relay exercise that helps keep their arms loose.
Good to see Gardenhire being such a hard ass. I know $100 isn't a lot of money to these guys but it does send a message that nothing should be taken lightly. Its a sign of a good leader and manager. Gardy's one of the best.

A couple of weeks ago, I read a story about Justin Morneau fining himself $100 for missing something like this. The Twins are a good organization with some great guys.
