Mauer will NEVER put fear into pitchers. He's a guy who bats for average, not the fence. Granted he'll get some out, but that's never been his forte.

Wasn't he a five-tool player at Cretin-Durham HS? This guy was supposed to do everything out there. He was basically their version of Carlos Beltran. I guess HS is a lot different than the majors, eh.
As long as Joe can hit with RISP a la Shannon, I will take it. Unfortunately, he is a double play waiting to happen. He has had a solid year, but there was so much expectations out of him the minute he was drafted. Maybe he will be that player in due time, but geez he was way overhyped. I know he is a guy from St. Paul, but c'mon.
Guys, Mauer has been hurt. The Knee Remember. He will be a great player. This is really like the most he has ever played. Last year he was hurt early. So we need to wait till years end to see what kind of numbers he will produce. my guess 12 homers and 75 rbis. What is your guess??
KBSL - Atlanta Hawks
Arizona gm - MSL
mntwinsfan: The numbers you pointed out is basically what I think Joe will be doing this year.
I know this is his first full year as Sid pointed out in the paper today, but I guess I had too high expectations like I did with Justin. Still it's understandable for fans to feel that way.
